On May 6th, China Economic Cooperation Center and East West Institute co-hosted a roundtable for entrepreneurs from China and US in Beijing in a bid to echo the 8th China-US High-Level Political Party Leaders' Dialogue. Xu Lvping, Vice Minister of the International Department of CPC, Kirk, former trade representative of the Obama administration, Minister of Veteran Affairs of the Bush administration, Nicholson, former president of the National Committee of the Republicans with other American delegates, other political delegates from both sides and representatives from CCAG, JD group, GM, JNJ, NU SKIN attended the roundtable.
The roundtable featured two topics - current economic situation in China and US and opportunities and challenges for Chinese and US companies’ transnational businesses, hosted by Hu Yanxin, president of CECC and John He, director of East West Institute respectively. Fan Bi, vice director of the department of general affairs in the research office of State Council and Bob Holden, former governor of Missouri made keynote speeches at the meeting. Business representatives from China and US actively communicated with each other on past experience of doing business in their counterparts’ countries and also put forth suggestions on promoting business cooperation in the new age. The roundtable has been taken as the highlight of China-US High-Level Political Party Leaders' Dialogue by enriching the topics for discussion and making the Dialogue more inclusive and multi-faceted. It also plays a significant role in ensuring that the Dialogue is effective, up-to-date and sustainable.
Present at the roundtable were also Ma Hui, director of Bureau VII of the International Department of CPC, Li Mingxiang and Zhou Rongguo, vice directors of Bureau VII of the International Department of CPC, Liu Jinghua and Wu Baocai, vice presidents of CECC and others.
