On July 21st, Wang Jiarui, the Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Minister of the International Department of CPC Central Committee met with Thomas J. Donohue, the President and CEO of U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Wang pointed out that China-U.S. relations maintained a robust momentum, creating favorable conditions for the growth of economic and trade ties and cooperation between enterprises. To promote cooperation in all sectors, we need to strengthen political mutual trust. China is willing to work together with the U.S. to build new type of major power relationship and make joint efforts to safeguard the peace and stability of the region. He expressed his hope that USCC could lobby the domestic departments, so as to properly resolve disputes, facilitate investment and promote economic and trade cooperation. CECC utilizes the resources from inter-party exchanges of CPC to promote economic and trade cooperation between China and foreign countries. He expected more contact and cooperation between CECC and USCC.
Donohue said that this new round of economic reform carried out by China’s new administration unfolded new opportunities for cooperation, boosted bilateral trade and investment and brought about tangible benefits to the people of both countries. USCC believes in a positive prospect of China’s development and will continue to contribute to the growth of U.S.-China cooperation and bilateral relations.
Vice Minister Zhou Li of IDCPC, President Hu Yanxin of CECC, Vice President Liu Jinghua of CECC and Vice Chief Director Zhou Rongguo of 7th bureau of IDCPC also attended the meeting.
